August 2: Thank You, Body

August 2: Thank You, Body

Thank your body for everything it has carried you through. Include the parts you've criticized the most.

How ironic that I'm writing this as I sit in the waiting room at my dentist, waiting for my appointment. I have had two dental surgeries, three bone transplants in my gums, and three teeth transplants when I was in university. I'm now on an Invisalign journey to fix the alignment of my bottom teeth.

I have been through a lot with both my teeth and my body. All my life my weight fluctuated, reaching high highs and low lows, and through it all my body never failed me. I can always get out of bed, shower, walk, exercise, drive, run, take care of myself.

I'm so grateful to God for giving me this body, and while I didn't always take care of it the way it deserved to be taken care of, it never failed me.

Thank you, God, for this blessing.
