Ten 2025 Revelations
1- The future is overrated. SLOW DOWN.
Live in the moment. We keep planning for the milestone: “I’ll be happy when ___, I’ll rest once ___, I’ll open this after ___.”
What if the ___ never comes?
Enjoy it now. Consume it now. Celebrate it now. Also who the fuck cares?
2- Discipline is King.
Keep a routine. Portion your big goals into bite-sized achievements. To live without a purpose is no life at all.
3- SLEEP.
Prioritize your sleep. Sleep is the most vital thing you can do to be happy. Lack of sleep ruins everything, even the happiest experiences.
4- Spend QUALITY time with yourself.
Mindlessly scrolling TikTok is not quality time. Instead, spend time with yourself doing activities that bring you closer to you.
Self-care? Reading? Crafts? Writing?
Sitting quietly with yourself?
Whatever it is, get to know you and love you.
5- Do less, but do it better.
I learned this the hard way, taking on more load and responsibilities in the pursuit of my ambitions, until I became overwhelmed and enveloped in tasks, unable to see the purpose of it all.
Do less. One big thing at a time. But do it better.
6- Listen more.
Slow down. Listen more, in conversations, in the things you read and consume. Listen.
It’s the best way to learn and uncover truths you could never otherwise.
7- Fall deeper in love.
Allow yourself to indulge in love, whether it’s loving yourself, your friends, family, or spouse.
We are often so scared of losing people that we build restraints, walls that stop us when we catch ourselves forgetting that nothing lasts.
Instead, let those limits go. If things end, you’ll at least have this: the privilege of having fully immersed yourself in those relationships. Also, we’re all dying anyway.
8- Travel more.
Every opportunity for travel, no matter how inconvenient it feels, how much it disrupts your plans, how harshly it fits into your schedule, take it.
Traveling, seeing new things, new people, new cultures is such a refresher to the soul. Sometimes you need to be away to really see.
9- Express yourself.
If you love someone, tell them.
If you feel hurt, say it.
If something makes you uncomfortable, confront it.
Don’t let anything fester inside of you until it grows into an unmanageable beast. Tame it. Let it out. You’ll feel lighter.
10- Be grateful.
We are so lucky in so many ways. Wake up every day looking for gratitude. Spot your blessings. Train your mind to appreciate the things you have now that make you happy and give you a good life, and eventually, those thing swill multiply until that’s all your mind will be able to see.
To be grateful is to be happy.
