Post Ramadan Reflections

what a privilege

〰️

what a privilege 〰️

What a privilege it is

To eat & drink whenever I want.
This is not a reality for so many people, and no, it’s not because of voluntary fasting in the pursuit of religious aspirations.

What a privilege it is

to have religious aspirations and to have an anchor in life that no one can take away from me, even when things get tough.

What a privilege it is

for things to get tough, because it means they were once not, and there are things that tough times can offer that nothing else can… like showing you who and what really matters.

What a privilege it is

to have people who support and love me. Even if it was one person, that’s one more than a lot of people have. And I have so many. Even if there was no one in my corner, I would still have me.

What a privilege it is

to have the ability to invest time to get to know myself, to enjoy my own company, to love myself, to be independent.

I catch myself getting so used to privileges that blessings become everyday norms I take for granted.

I just wanted to take a moment to reflect on how much I have to be grateful for.
